Speedboat Tours on Loch Lomond

Often described as the highlight of a trip to Loch Lomond, a luxury speedboat tour is the perfect way to discover the loch. Combine travelling at speed over open water with cruising slowly through the many islands with and enjoy breath-taking Scottish scenery in every direction.

The largest expanse of fresh water in the United Kingdom, Loch Lomond is 23 miles long and 5 miles wide. The loch’s outstanding natural beauty, rich history and abundant wildlife have attracted visitors from across the world for generations. The northern end resembles a Norwegian Fjord, with steep craggy mountains rising dramatically for the waters edge, whilst the southern half is broad and open and dotted with islands. No matter where you are on Loch Lomond you are guaranteed spectacular views in every direction.

All of our speedboat tours are designed to help you make the most of your time on Loch Lomond. Seating up to 8 passengers in comfort, the new 21-foot Regal is the perfect way to explore the loch and its islands. Combine the thrill of travelling at speed over open water and cruising slowly through the lochs many islands. Discover Loch Lomond from the comfort of a luxury speedboat including points of interest such as the Highland Boundary Fault Line, the Loch Lomond Golf Course and the ‘Narrows’.

Each island has its own story to tell. From ancient castles and clan burial grounds to beautiful forest walks and stunning view points, all the islands have something to offer.

90 minute or 2 hour Inchcailloch Tour (£155 or £200)
Inchcailloch is part of the Loch Lomond National Nature Reserve and one of the most popular islands due to its outstanding natural beauty and rich history. 90 minutes allows enough time to walk up to the ruins of an old church and clan burial ground while opting for the 2 hour tour will give you enough time to also climb the small hill and enjoy panoramic views over the loch and other islands.

2.5 hour or 3 hour Inchcailloch & Inchmurrin Tour (£245 or £290)
This tour combines a visit to Inchcailloch with a visit to Inchmurrin. The largest of the lochs islands it is also the only one to have a bar and restaurant, the perfect stop for a drink or bite to eat while enjoying beautiful loch views. Please note the island is closed on Tuesdays.

3 hour or 4 hour Island Hopping Tour (£290 or £380)
Taking a little longer to explore Loch Lomond’s islands will give you the chance to visit secluded and hidden spots that other visitors to the area won’t have the chance to experience up close. The 3 hour island hopping tour includes a visit to Inchmurrin, Inchcailloch and Inchconnachan the last of which you can only get to if you have your own boat. The island forms part of the ‘Narrows’, a beautiful channel that runs between 3 of the lochs islands and has an abundance of mature native woodland including larch, oak and Scots pine. It also happens to be home to Scotland’s only population of wild wallabies…

On the 4 hour island hopping tour you have the opportunity to explore the northern half of Loch Lomond as well as the south. Whilst visiting all 3 islands mentioned in the 3 hour tour you will also get to visit Inveruglas Isle. Although small it boasts the substantial ruins of a castle once home to the chiefs of the MacFarlane clan.

Arrive in style at one of the many loch side or restaurants and dine on the finest local produce whilst enjoying panoramic loch views. The perfect way to celebrate a special occasion or just a fun afternoon out with family or friends, the speedboat tour & meal combines stunning scenery with the best of Scotland’s world renowned food and drink.

90 minute or 2 hour Speedboat Tour & Meal at Inchmurrin Island (£155 or £200)
Enjoy a 15 minute speedboat trip to Inchmurrin, the largest of the lochs islands and enjoy an hour for lunch or dinner at the pub before stepping back on board for the return journey. Opt for the 2 hour option and enjoy an hour’s speedboat tour either before or after your meal.

2.5 hour or 3 hour Speedboat Tour & Meal at Lodge on Loch Lomond (£245 or £290)
Combine either an hour or 90 minute speedboat tour with a 90 minute stop for lunch or dinner at the Lodge on Loch Lomond. Enjoy a seasonal menu of fresh and locally sourced food whilst enjoying the spectacular loch views.

3.5 hour or 4 hour Speedboat Tour & Meal at Ardlui Hotel (£335 or £380)
From one end of Loch Lomond to the other, this tour takes you from Portnellan in the south to Ardlui at the mouth of the river Falloch in the north. Enjoy an hour’s speedboat tour up the loch and see how the land changes from being broad and open to narrow with steep mountains rising dramatically from the waters edge. Enjoy a 90 minute stop for lunch at the Ardlui Hotel before returning down the loch. Take the 4 hour option and you can stop for a drink at one of the loch-side bars on the way.

What better way to see Loch Lomond than by cruising from pub to pub by speedboat? With a variety of pubs and bars to choose from this is a truly unique experience perfect for special occasions and especially popular with stag and hen do’s, birthday parties and corporate groups.

2 hour Mini Speedboat Pub Tour (£200)
A taster for the real thing but perfect if you’re on a budget or a bit tight for time, the mini speedboat pub tour allows time for two 30 minute stops. A typical itinerary might include drinks at the Lodge on Loch Lomond and Inchmurrin Island.

3 hour Speedboat Pub Tour (£290)
The 3 hour speedboat pub tour allows time for drinks at 3 different pubs. Although the itinerary is not fixed and may change due to opening times and weather a typical itinerary might include The Oak Tree Inn, Lodge on Loch Lomond and Inchmurrin Island.

4 hour Speedboat Pub Tour (£380)
The 4 hour speedboat pub tour gives you a bit more flexibility in terms of timing and the option to stop for a meal at one of the pubs. If you are not having a meal, then there would be time for 4 stops. If you decide to have a meal at one of the pubs this would reduce to 3 stops.

5 hour Speedboat Tour (£470)
If you really want to make a day of it, why not go for the 5 hour speedboat pub tour? This option allows you to make a stop for lunch or dinner whist still getting the full 4 stops in. A typical itinerary might include the Oak Tree Inn, Lodge on Loch Lomond, Rowardennan Hotel and Inchmurrin Island.

The perfect way to celebrate in style or as a gift to loved ones, the champagne cruise is guaranteed to impress. Enjoy a glass of bubbly on board whilst surrounded by spectacular Scottish scenery.

1 hour or 90 minute Champagne Cruise (£160 or £205)

Enjoy an hour’s speedboat tour and crack open the champagne whilst cruising slowly through the ‘narrows’, a beautiful passage-way between 3 of the lochs larger islands. Add an additional 30 minutes and enjoy a little longer on board or perhaps stop at an island for champagne on the beach.

1 bottle of champagne and glasses provided.

This tour is becoming ever more popular as people look for a day out with a difference. Enjoy a speedboat tour round Loch Lomond before being dropped on an island for a picnic or BBQ on the beach. Basic Island Picnic / BBQ (£110)

Enjoy a 15 minute speedboat trip out to one of Loch Lomond’s islands and spend the day exploring the island and picnicking on the beach before being collected and returning to Portnellan by boat. Choose from several islands including Inchcailloch, Inchmurrin or Inchmoan. Price excludes food & drink.

1 hour Speedboat Tour & Island Picnic / BBQ (£155)

Take a little extra time to explore the south end of Loch Lomond either before or after being dropped on an island. Price excludes food & drink.
