Privacy policy

Portnellan Farm, at Gartocharn on Loch Lomond, runs this website. This page explains what we collect when you ask to book kayak and paddleboard hire, a farm tour or a camper van pitch, ask about a stay at the Old Farmhouse, or fill in the mooring agreement, on this website. It also explains why we collect it, who sees it and how long we keep it.

This is a draft written for the new website. The family is checking it before the website goes live.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own. It uses Google Analytics only if you say yes.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a service from Google. We use it to count visits and see how people use the site. It switches on only when you press Accept on the cookie notice. Until you accept, nothing is sent to Google and no analytics cookies are set.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. It records the pages you view, your approximate location (the town or region), the type of device and browser you use, how you reached the site and when you click a booking link, a phone number or an email address. It also records when you send a form and the name of that form. It does not record what you type into our forms. Google processes this information for us under its own privacy policy.

You can change your choice at any time. Press Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, then choose Accept or Reject. Choosing Reject stops the recording and removes the Analytics cookies from your browser. We store your choice on your own device, in your browser's local storage, so the notice does not come back.

Google Map

The home page and the contact page show an embedded Google Map of the farm. The map loads when you open those pages. Google may set its own cookies when it does. The notice at the top of those pages says so. The map comes from Google and has its own cookie and privacy policies.

Booking on other websites

You book speedboat tours through eola and the Old Farmhouse through Sykes Cottages. Those companies take your booking details under their own privacy policies. We do not control what they collect.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it or to delete it. Email info@portnellanfarm.co.uk and we will deal with your request.

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
