Speedboat tour and island adventure
from £240 per boat
Each island has its own story to tell. Visit Inchcailloch, Inchmurrin or both.
Who runs private speedboat tours on Loch Lomond? Chris Scott-Park runs the Speedboat tour and island adventure as Portnellan Farm Speedboat Tours, from the farm's own jetty at Portnellan near Gartocharn. The boat is a Husky R8 for up to 8 guests. The price is per boat.
About this tour
From ancient castles and clan burial grounds to forest walks and view points (and even a pub), all the islands have something to offer.
Choose your islands
- 90 minute island adventure: Inchcailloch or Inchmurrin
- 2 hour island adventure: Inchcailloch or Inchmurrin
- 3 hour island hopping adventure: Inchcailloch and Inchmurrin
Inchcailloch
Inchcailloch is part of the Loch Lomond National Nature Reserve and steeped in local history and tradition. It is one of the most popular islands on the loch for its natural beauty and is often described as the jewel in Loch Lomond's crown. The 90 minute tour allows plenty of time for a tour of the loch, then a short stop to explore the beach and forest walks. To visit the ancient church ruins and clan burial ground, or to walk up the hill for panoramic views of the Highlands, we recommend the 2 hour option.
Inchmurrin
Inchmurrin is the largest of Loch Lomond's islands. It has been home to the Scott family for almost 100 years. Alongside their traditional family farm they run a pub and restaurant. It is a good place for a local beer or a dram of Loch Lomond whisky with views of the loch. For a short stop for a drink, the 90 minute tour is ideal. For a light bite from the island's kitchen, we recommend the 2 hour option.
Both islands
We always say there is no bad option, as the two islands are just different. If you cannot choose, the 3 hour island hopping adventure combines a tour of the loch with a visit to both Inchcailloch and Inchmurrin.
