Set within 230 acres of private farmland and enjoying unique panoramic views over Loch Lomond and the Scottish Highlands, our campervan and motor home pitches offer an oasis of peace and tranquility right on the banks of one of Scotland’s most iconic freshwater lochs.

If you are looking for an ‘off the beaten track’ camping experience then Portnellan Farm is for you. We offer an area of hard standing on our organic farm with a beautiful view over Loch Lomond, electric hook up and water supply and access to toilet and shower facilities. People like to stay on Portnellan for the peace and tranquillity so we only take a maximum of 2 or 3 campervans or motor homes per night. Dogs are welcome but must be kept under close control at all times as we are a working farm and there may be cows and calves nearby.
Fires are an integral part of camping and you are welcome to have one but it must be in a fire pit, not directly on the ground and must always be supervised while burning. If you would like to buy logs from the farm or rent a fire pit just let us know.
You will have direct access to the loch and are welcome to paddle or swim. If you would like to take a walk around the farm we suggest talking to us first so that we can advise you on the best route and any areas to avoid.
If you would like to get out on the water and don’t have your own kit we have a selection of kayaks and paddleboards available to rent and we also run speedboat trips from the farm so just let us know if you would like any information.

Terms & Conditions

We take self-contained campervans looking for an off-the-beaten track experience. You will be parked on a hard standing alongside farm machinery and boats but with the loveliest view.

  • Electrical hook-up and water tap available beside your ‘pitch’
  • Toilet and shower facilities short walk away from the ‘pitch’
  • £35 per night per van, including 2 people; £6 per person for extra guests
  • Fees payable to Portnellan Farm LLP (see below for details)
  • We politely request that you do not smoke on the farm
  • Dogs welcome but poop-scooping essential; dogs must be under close control
  • No toilet-emptying facilities [1]
  • Checkout 11.00am unless otherwise agreed

[1] Because our septic tanks are ‘delicate’ we cannot take your grey water or toilet waste.

People stay on Portnellan Farm for the peace and tranquility, and the Old Farmhouse self-catering house is close to where you will pitch, so we ask you to respect this and keep noise to a minimum, especially in the evening.
