Set in 230 acres of private farmland and enjoying unique panoramic views over Loch Lomond and the Scottish Highlands, The Old Farmhouse offers an oasis of luxury and tranquility right on the banks of one of Scotland’s most iconic freshwater lochs.
Having been recently renovated The Old Farmhouse has been transformed into a lovely, warm and contemporary space whilst still retaining much of it original charm. Almost all of the rooms command the same mesmerising view over the loch and mountains and the front decked area enjoys an uninterrupted panorama over Britain’s largest loch and Scotland’s most southerly munro, Ben Lomond. Just below the house there is a pier and moorings for those wishing to bring their own boat.
The house consists of a well-equipped kitchen with a Rangemaster professional cooker, a cosy living room with a wood-burning stove, 3 generously sized bedrooms that can be made up as super-kings or singles all with spectacular loch views, a downstairs accessible shower room and upstairs bathroom with jacuzzi bath and separate shower. The front decking has a table, chairs and charcoal BBQ for enjoying those long summer evenings.
For those that would like to experience the stunning scenery of Loch Lomond from the water, Chris offers luxury speedboat tours that will inform and thrill. Enjoy a walk on an island and picnic on the beach or take the boat to one of the loch side pubs or restaurants for a meal or drinks. Chris also hires kayaks and paddle boards for the more adventurous and is always happy to give advice on where to go. We’d also be delighted to show you around the farm and take you to meet the cows if you’re interested.
The Old Farmhouse is perfectly located for those looking to explore Scotland’s first national park, whether you’re into hiking, cycling, castles, golf, distilleries or just amazing Scottish scenery Loch Lomond and the Trossachs won’t disappoint. Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling are all easy to get to with regular trains from Balloch, which is only a 10-minute drive from the farm.
